Myths and Stereotypes
Greek organizations have impacted countless lives over their 200+ years in American higher education. Fraternities and sororities provide students with a profound sense of belonging and impart essential values, such as teamwork, interpersonal skills, self-control, and the importance of being well-rounded. While the direct impact is most evident during undergrad, the relationships formed within the Greek experience continue to be cherished throughout individuals' lives.

As American society has evolved, so has the role of Greek organizations. Originating as literary societies, fraternities eventually became social living organizations, introducing notable social changes for participating undergraduates. However, this transition has also increased scrutiny, with fraternities and sororities facing public criticism for various social issues.
